ClubFloyd Transcript:
The Forgotten Girls by Brent H.
As played on ifMUD on March 24, 2013

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of The Forgotten Girls written by Brent H.. The Forgotten Girls was written for Vanderbilt University's 2012 Commons Reading Competition. It was inspired by Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. You can learn more about the game, including how to download it, by visiting the ifWiki.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing this game, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played this game, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

ANOTHER WARNING! A lot (most!) of the transcripts contained on this site are, shall we say, family-friendly. This is not one of those family-friendly transcripts. Just so we're clear.

Floyd | You and your friend Pari have been digging out an escape tunnel.
Floyd | Yesterday she told you that it was ready and that she would come get
Floyd | you right after dinner. Unfortunately, it's already night and she's
Floyd | half an hour late, which is worrying you very much. Even worse, Nikhil
Floyd | probably isn't planning to leave for at least a few hours, and by then
Floyd | you doubt you'll have any chance.

Floyd |
Floyd | Bedroom
Floyd | The room is small, musky, and windowless. A single light bulb is
Floyd | hanging overhead, controlled by a light switch. A bed is pushed in
Floyd | the corner, leaving only a little room for standing. The walls are
Floyd | made of solid gray concrete and are colored by various stains you'd
Floyd | rather not speak of. There is one hole in the wall for electricity. A
Floyd | wooden door separates this room from the hallway to the north.
Floyd |
Floyd | On the bed is Nikhil Varma.
Floyd |
Floyd | You can also see a plastic fan here.

Floyd |
Floyd | An Indian man whom you judge to be about twenty-five years old. He
Floyd | appears to be reasonably fit, fairly healthy, and a despicable
Floyd | monster.

Floyd | can also be abbreviated "x", as in "x bed".)

Floyd |
Floyd | You are a thin, yet fairly tall, fourteen-year-old Indian girl. You
Floyd | consider yourself to be only of average prettiness, however, which is
Floyd | fortunate here, as beauty is almost a curse.
Floyd |
Floyd | (To see a description of the room, just type "look". This description

Floyd | > X PLASTIC FAN
Floyd |
Floyd | A generic white fan about half a meter high, consisting of four fairly
Floyd | sharp blades. It is placed here more for the comfort of the customers
Floyd | than for yours. A cord connects it to the hole in the wall. There is a
Floyd | white cover to protect the blades.
Floyd |
Floyd | The plastic fan is currently switched on.
Floyd |
Floyd | (To talk to someone, just "mention" a subject while in the same room
