Like ClubFloyd, the idea behind NightFloyd is that a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Unlike ClubFloyd, NightFloyd often takes on significantly larger works of interactive fiction, knowing going in that each one will take multiple sessions (but not always, as you'll see in this transcript). NightFloyd is also a bit more informal than ClubFloyd in that it's only announced on the ifMUD #clubfloyd bulletin board, and the time shifts around to meet player's schedules far more than ClubFloyd does. NightFloyd is organized by genericgeekgirl, aka Adri.

Below is a transcript of Eurydice written by Anonymous. Eurydice was originally released as part of the 2012 IF Comp, in which it took second place. Floyd | posted.  But you might want to consider the following: PLAY (a musical
Floyd | instrument should you acquire one), TALK TO (for interacting with
Floyd | people) and TURN AROUND (under a very specific set of circumstances).
Floyd | I would also recommend that you try repeating actions if it seems
Floyd | appropriate, since you will likely find they have different outcomes -
Floyd | especially when it comes to talking to people.  With reference to
Floyd | TURNING AROUND, if you happen to be in a situation in which it might
Floyd | not be ideal to TURN AROUND, doubling back on yourself will also
Floyd | count.

Floyd | borders that may perhaps bloom one spring, and scattered buildings
Floyd | that are too perfectly, facelessly functional to have anything of
Floyd | beauty or ugliness to them.  There are jaunty painted signs to
Floyd | Cotswold House and Wintle Ward.

Floyd | standing behind you, smiling.  The rising sun gleams upon her hair and
Floyd | in her eyes, her cheeks flushed with the first light of dawn.  The
Floyd | grass at her feet is a carpet of flowers and as you rush into her
Floyd | opening arms you find yourself clutching at nothing but a flurry of
Floyd | petals the colour of her lipstick.

Floyd | Marlborough Road looks exactly as it did when you left it, except it
Floyd | is greyish in the dawn.  It seems you have been wandering all night
Floyd | long.  Your house is dark and quiet behind its curtained windows, as
Floyd | if it has closed its eyes.  The world waits at your back, the front
Floyd | door lies ahead, waiting for you to open it.

Floyd | door swings open and you step inside, into neither emptiness nor cold,
Floyd | and your hand warm as if someone holds it still.

Johnny says, "If we're not going to bang around for more endings."
jenrexrode says, "not tonite"
mwmiller says, "Seems a reasonable point to call it quits."
mwmiller says (to Floyd), "quit"

jenrexrode has had her fill of playing for now, and goes back to the Lounge.
Johnny does like justice, but that's taking it a bit far.
mwmiller goes home. Johnny says, "So, I guess we could've just let the snake chill after all."
Johnny says (to snake), "Sorry?!"
mwmiller says, "Well, it's not our fault the snake's not a music fan."
jenrexrode says, "I think we freaked him out with our cutting"
Johnny says, "Yes."
Johnny says, "Which it turns out was totally unnecessary, I guess."
Johnny says, "Since it's slightly difficult to tell."
mwmiller says, "Oh. Right, whatever."
jenrexrode says, "I'm not sure what's worth doing besides finding the lyre and the front door."
jenrexrode says, "I guess giving pills to celine was also untried"
Johnny says, "Finding out how much we dislike everybody."
jenrexrode asks, "is that motivation to...?"
Johnny says, "I doubt it."
jenrexrode asks, "more or less stuff to talk with Celine about?"
jenrexrode asks, "saying yes when doc sends us home?"
