ClubFloyd Transcript:
The Angel Curse by David Welbourn
A speedIF O entry by David Welbourn
It's Easter, Peeps! by Sara Brookside
As played on ifMUD on April 20, 2014

The idea behind ClubFloyd is that each week at a pre-arranged time, a group of people meet online to cooperatively play a game of interactive fiction.

Below is a transcript of The Angel Curse, A speedIF O entry, and It's Easter, Peeps!

The Angel Curse and A speedIF 0 entry were written by David Welbourn. It's Easter Peeps was written by Sara Brookside, and the version of it that we played was ported to Inform by David Welbourn. So it was essentially a David Welbourn day on ClubFloyd. You can learn more about the games, including how to download them, by visiting the IFDB pages: The Angel Curse, A speedIF O entry, and It's Easter, Peeps!.

WARNING! Below you will find a transcript of people playing these games, and it goes without saying that the transcript is full of spoilers. So, if you've never played these games, and think you might like to at some point, I do not recommend reading any further. Instead, you might want to return to the interactive fiction page.

#ClubFloyd Discussion

Jacqueline says, "So, um, yeah. About this ClubFloyd thing."
Jacqueline says, "I should get back into being a good organizer."
Jacqueline gets bored and wanders off to the Toyshop.
Jacqueline arrives, ready to play with the toys. Jacqueline says, "huh. Floyd can't do Alan games. Why was I thinking that he could? Hm."
Jacqueline hollers, "It is ClubFloyd time even though I am a bad organizer and posted no plan! If you want to play something come to the Toyshop." Jacqueline says, "Although, if CF is not a thing that is happening, that is okay too, I guess."
Jacqueline says, "But there are a few SpringThing things, as well as other stuff."
Roger arrives, full of neither funk nor fun. Jacqueline exclaims, "Roger!"
Jacqueline exclaims, "Roger! Roger!"
Jacqueline says, "I'm like that pairie chipmunk or whatever it was in that BBC video."
Jacqueline asks, "Anyway, so far this is a very small party. What are you in the mood for?"
Roger says, "Oh I dunno"
Roger says, "Nothing too strenuous"
Jacqueline says, "Also, I'm totally wrong. It's a marmot, and it wants Allan, not Roger."
[LINK]
Jacqueline says, "maga claims Bear Creek pt 1 from Spring Thing is not strenuous, though it is 'moderately-sized'"
Jacqueline says, "There are also some other SpringThing things that will run on Floyd."
Jacqueline says, "And then there is the bit where we could just resurrect some old Speed IFs or something."
pollux arrives, full of fun and funk. Jacqueline says, "'ullo, pollux"
pollux says, "Hi."
Jacqueline says, "Here's an old Gunther speed IF"
Jacqueline says, "Huh. Since DW isn't here, here's one of his."
Jacqueline says, "I have never heard of it. And it doesn't get awesome reviews because of the second half, yet is recommended just to experience the first half."
Jacqueline says, "The Angel Curse. Shall I load that up>"
Jacqueline asks, "?"
Claw says, "Hi, ClubFloyd."
Jacqueline says, "Hi, Claw."
Jacqueline says (to Floyd), "load sleepmask angelcurse"

Floyd | St. Catherine's has an excellent gymnasium for its female students,

DavidW says, "Peep hangover wore off, maybe."
Taleslinger says, "I'm still in a food coma"
Jacqueline says, "But I thought no one was coming to ClubFloyd so we just played this DW speed IF and now *everyone* is here."

Jacqueline asks, "So, what should we do next week? Spring Thing stuff?"
Jacqueline says, "Also, thanks, David. You were a very good sport."
DavidW says, "You're welcome and thanks back at ya."
DavidW says, "Some of the Spring Thing games won't play on Floyd and others are kinda long."
Jacqueline says, "Yeah."
Jacqueline says, "We don't have to do those, it was just a thought. There are a few that are Floydable, but not all."
DavidW says, "I'm in the middle of the Quest one, Weekend At Ruby's."
DavidW says, "And I need to download a new terp for the Alan 3 game."
Jacqueline asks, "Well, if not ST games, then what?"
DavidW says, "hm. Looking over my IF bio, I think ClubFloyd has played almost all of my games now."
DavidW says, "When in doubt, pick something from the year 2001."
Jacqueline asks, "Oh?"
DavidW says, "I find the year 2001 to have been a fertile year for IF."
Jacqueline says, "huh."
DavidW says, "or around that time, at least."
DavidW says, "We could embarrass Emily and play Banana Apocalypse and the Rocket Pants of Destiny."
DavidW says, "(which has multiple endings, if I recall)"
Jacqueline says, "Huh. We haven't played that."
Jacqueline says, "Okay, sure. Let's do that next week."
DavidW says, "or maybe we could target Glulx games, which are usually a cut above the usual IF."
Jacqueline says, "Well, let's do BA&tRPoD next week, but be thinking beyond that."
Jacqueline says, "And I'm going to use this time to get caught up on transcripts."
DavidW says, "ok."
DavidW says, "huh. There's a game by Adri called Bureaucrocy, released in March 2014 that I never heard of til now."
DavidW says, "I'll nominate that one."
Marvin disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again. * NewsBoy hollers, "Extra! Extra! Jacqueline has posted message 269, about 'Apr 27 - Banana Apocalypse and the Rocket Pants of Destiny', to the bulletin board! That would go better with duck fat."
Jacqueline asks, "Want me to make that the game for the following week?"
Jacqueline says, "I will only be here part of the time, as I have to work that afternoon, but I'll be around for 3 hours, so."
DavidW says, "sure. Banana Apocalypse is a speed-if though, so I think we might want to add another speed-if for next week."
Jacqueline says, "Well, maybe. I don't like to obligate us to a long session. Would rather tack one on if we're in the mood."
DavidW says, "but yeah, let's have Bureaucrocy two weeks from now."
DavidW says, "okay, I can be tacky if I have to be."
Jacqueline says, "So it's mispelled. huh."
DavidW says, "Crocodiles."
Gerynar says, "yeah...what DW said"
Jacqueline says, "Ah."
* NewsBoy hollers, "Extra! Extra! Jacqueline has posted message 270, about 'May 04 - Bureaucrocy', to the bulletin board! And now to make PollBoy an offer he can't refuse."
Roger goes home.
Roger has disconnected. Jacqueline says, "OH WAIT"
Jacqueline asks, "Did we want to play It's Easter, Peeps! ?"
Jacqueline says, "It seems like we would want to play it today or not for a long time."
djfletch says, "yeah, give it a go if it's another shortish one"
DavidW says, "up to you guys. I would like to see it played, but I'm not fussy if now or later."
DavidW says, "It's a one-room game, so it's short-ish."
Gerynar arrives, full of funk, but no fun. Jacqueline asks, "Is your port linked to on the page, or separate?"
Jacqueline says, "I see there is a file containing both the Adrift and Inform versions..."
DavidW says, "Should be on the page. Both versions were release simultaneously."
Jacqueline nods.
Jacqueline says, "Got it. One sec."
Taleslinger arrives, full of neither funk nor fun.
Taleslinger makes disgusting noises with a glob of Gak. Jacqueline asks (of DW), "There are also a lot of PDFs and stuff in here. Should I upload those for people to see while we play?"
DavidW says, "The PDFs are optional but fun. They're meant to be printed, cut out and folded."
DavidW says, "To make Easter bunnies, baskets, and an egg, I think."
DavidW says, "I can't remember exactly what they are."
DavidW says, "They are more of a true feelie than the usual feelie. :)"
Jacqueline says, "Ah. Well, for the curious, they can now be found here:"

Floyd | Cheerful images of colorful eggs, chicks, rabbits, carrots, and
Floyd | ribbon-festooned Easter baskets adorn the candy store. To the north,
Floyd | the shopkeeper stands patiently behind a counter. South of you, the
