CF ] Pond of Leaves Neighborhood
CF | | ||
CF | | ||
CF | | ||
CF | You have been tasked to find the missing cat, Peanut. You're hoping
CF | this simple mission will earn you your Community Service merit badge.
CF | You head into the woods where the cat was last seen.
CF | | ||
CF | Andelmans' Yard | ||
CF | A Fiction by Arlan Wetherminster
CF | Release 1 / Serial number 221124 / Inform 7 build 6M62 (I6/v6.33 lib
CF | 6/12N) | ||
CF | | ||
CF | Pond of Leaves | ||
CF | The ground is very sunken here. The surrounding trees have dumped a
CF | pond of leaves. At the northwest end of the leaf pond, you can see a
CF | small cement structure with a rusty grating. A light trail heads east
CF | through the trees. | ||
CF | | ||
CF | Lounging just behind the rusty grating, on the edge of darkness, is
CF | Peanut the cat. | ||

CF | show bold characters, just check "topics" periodically to see any
CF | additions. | ||
CF | | ||
CF | Multiple traversals in the story can be narratively rewarding. Stay
CF | curious. If you're stuck, examining things usually yields clues.
CF | | ||
CF | This story's playtesters were Geoff Moore, Dr. Francesco Tortorici,
CF | and Neil Butters. | ||

CF | | ||
CF | You hear footsteps echoing nearby.
CF | | ||
CF | Leafy Tunnel | ||
CF | You are in an underground tunnel, carved into the rough-hewn earth.
CF | The ceiling is low and the ground is covered with dead leaves. A rusty
CF | grating is to the southeast and another exit, to the north, leads
CF | down. You are just in time to see Peanut the cat dart down the passage
CF | to the north. | ||
CF | | ||
CF | > | Roger says, "If we're trying to trap this cat, we should close the grate behind us"
DavidW says, "I'm hoping the grating isn't even implemented on this side."
