#ClubFloyd Discussion

Pinkunz says, "Hello everyone."
jenrexrode says, "sounds like a good turnout today."
DavidW says, "hi Jacquelin, Pinkunz, and Roger"
DavidW says, "hi jen" | ||
jenrexrode has arrived. | Jacqueline says, "omg it's a party"
DavidW says, "snrk" | ||
Pinkunz says, "I do want to apologize for ADRIFT."
Pinkunz says, "Read the transcript recently."
Pinkunz says, "Y'all didn't have a great time, lmao."
DavidW says, "oh, we managed."
Jacqueline says, "We got by."
DavidW asks, "That was the one with the fidget spinner in space, the crate, and the tether of guess-the-verb, correct?"
Jacqueline says, "I mean, we just kind of floated along with things."
Jacqueline says (to DW), "Yeah"
Pinkunz says, "It's pretty painful looking back. Fwiw, I've gotten much better at flattening out and testing for guess the verbs."
Pinkunz says, "Also, you are supposed to die when you run out of Oxygen. The ever dimishing, yet never quite gone O2 was a bug."
Jacqueline says, "ha" | ||
DavidW says, "oh really"
Jacqueline) Pinkunz says, "You were supposed to die. So sorry you didn't. That was a bug."
DavidW says, "Zeno's oxygen supply."
Pinkunz says, "Yep. There's a whole selection of 4 different death scenes picked at random, because I thought people might die often."
DavidW asks, "Speaking of dying often, should we pick a game?"
Teaspoon asks, "how about the Wild West game?"
Jacqueline is, as usual, here to experience whatever the people want.
DavidW says, "I think we can assume that any game I added to the list is one I'm okay with."
Jacqueline says, "I'm good with the game Teaspoon desires."
Jacqueline says, "I'll play anything Amanda Walker releases."
Pinkunz says, "Same, I'm happy with Teaspoon's choice."
Teaspoon says, "cool beans"
DavidW asks, "So, Wild West?"
Jacqueline says, "mmhmm"
Pinkunz gives a thumbs up
DavidW says (to ClubFloyd), "load sleepmask wildwest"

CF | In the years following the American Civil War, you lead a simple life
CF | as a cowboy. Despite the low wage, you scrimp and save and manage to
CF | buy a small ranch near Tucson, Arizona, where you live with your wife
CF | Sarah and daughter Betty. You dream of a bright future for your
CF | daughter and work hard every day to earn the money needed to provide
CF | her with a good education.
CF | | ||
CF | Then, one day, your peaceful existence is shattered when Pablo Cortez
CF | and his gang raid your ranch on their return to Nogales after a
CF | robbery in Tucson. They shoot you in the head and leave you for dead.
CF | Luckily for you, the wound is superficial, but, when you come to, you
CF | discover that your life savings have been stolen, and Sarah and Betty
CF | have been kidnapped. You dress your wound and quickly recover,
CF | determined to find Sarah and Betty.
CF | | ||
CF | A few hours later, you're in hot pursuit of Cortez's gang. In
CF | retrospect, this was a stupid thing to do on your own. Halfway through
CF | the desert, your horse dies from the heat and exertion. You're now by
CF | yourself, on foot, and your horse lays dead at your feet.
CF | | ||
CF | This is a life or death situation. Despite the odds, you must press on
CF | if you want to see your family alive again, but consider every move
CF | carefully, as the Wild West is a deadly and unforgiving place.

CF | | ||
CF | Southern Outskirts of Desert

CF | On the ground, fresh tracks of a group of horses head towards the
CF | south, while to the east there's an unusual circular depression.
CF | Towards the north the trail leads back to the desert.

CF | Clearing | ||
CF | The clearing is crossed by paths that branch off in different
CF | directions. Possibly due to the proximity to the river, the ground is
CF | softer here so you can clearly make out horses' tracks heading north.
CF | You can go back to the river bank by going east.
CF | | ||
CF | You wait a little while until you hear one of Cortez's men at the
CF | horses. You wait a little longer until he returns to the camp. It
CF | should now be safe to go back to Cortez's camp and see what happened.

CF | Above Cortez's Hideout
CF | This flat clearing on the top of a hill is where Cortez's hideout is
CF | located. The gang is camped a little further down the hill to the east
CF | and the clearing continues to the south. The gang's horses are
CF | tethered to some bushes and these bushes conceal you from the gang.
CF | | ||
CF | You can see some horses, some saddles, some blankets and some saddle
CF | bags here. | ||

CF | When you reach the camp, the scene is horrifying. The lifeless bodies
CF | of the bandits are twisted in spasms caused by the powerful Indian
CF | poison. Fortunately, your wife and daughter haven't witnessed the
CF | scene, as they're in a makeshift tent. They're shaken by their
CF | experience, but they're both safe and well. After freeing them from
CF | their bonds, you bury the bandits' bodies under a pile of stones and
CF | return home on the bandits' horses.
CF | | ||
CF | On the journey, you wonder if this savage world will ever see any
CF | peace and decide that it's time to do your part to bring a little
CF | justice into the world. As the sun sets in the evening sky, a crazy
CF | idea crosses your mind. What if you ran to be the next sheriff?
CF | Kenneth Johnson, Sheriff of Tucson. Yeah, that has a nice ring to
CF | it... | ||

Teaspoon says, "we'll need the horses for- oh. That was abrupt."
Jacqueline says, "We solved all the puzzles and there is a sequel."
DavidW says, "Shorter game than I expected."
Teaspoon exclaims, "yay us!"
DavidW says, "It's a 3-part series."
Jacqueline says (to DW), "Yeah."
DavidW says, "That wasn't too bad."
Teaspoon says, "Straightforward"
Jacqueline asks, "Play the next one next week?"
DavidW says, "yeah, I think that's a plan."
Jacqueline says, "Cool."
Jacqueline shoots both of her six-shooters in the air.
Teaspoon says, "I probably won't make it next week, but thanks for indulging me"
DavidW says, "I'm hungry. I need a meal even though I'm not planing to climb up to a gold mine."
Jacqueline asks, "Y'all take care now, y'hear?"
DavidW says, "thanks for the game, y'all"
Teaspoon says, "same to you"
